Eligibility Criteria for Australia Awards Scholarships

For New Caledonia, French Polynesia and Wallis and Futuna the eligibility criteria for Australia Awards scholarships are as follows :

  • To hold French nationality
  • To have been a resident of New Caledonia for at least 10 years or 6 years for French Polynesia and Wallis and Futuna
  • To have completed the majority of their primary and secondary schooling in one of the three French collectivities
  • To hold at least a BTS or Bachelor’s degree for candidates from New Caledonia and French Polynesia
  • To hold a high school certificate for candidates from Wallis and Futuna only
  • To have good basic English (written and verbal)
  • To present a professional project in a priority sector for New Caledonia, that is; governance and public finance, regional cooperation and diplomacy, business, mining, sustainable development and natural disaster management.
  • Those with dual nationality French-Australian or French-New Zealander are not eligible
