The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea provides consular assistance in New Caledonia and Wallis-and-Futuna to citizens of Australia, Canada, Nauru and Papua New Guinea.

Consular assistance to Australians, Canadians and citizens of Nauru and PNG - Please call +687 27 24 14 (outside of our office hours, follow the prompts to be connected to the 24/7 Consular Emergency Centre in Canberra, also contactable outside of our office hours, in Australia on 1300 555 135 or from overseas on +61 2 6261 3305). Canadian citizens can also alternatively contact the 24/7 Canadian Emergency Watch and Response Center in Ottawa (email: [email protected] – phone +1 613 996 8885 with call collect accepted where available). The Australian Consulate-General does not manage nor respond to enquiries relating to visas, immigration-citizenship or entry-exit requirements to Australia (Australian Department of Home Affairs), New Caledonia or Wallis-and-Futuna, or Canada and we are unable to escalate applications or issues with the authorities in Australia, New Caledonia and Wallis-and-Futuna, or Canada. Check the websites below as appropriate to your enquiry and circumstances and contact relevant authorities directly:

  • Home Affairs - Australian Immigration (Visas), Citizenship and Border Protection including citizenship, visas, biometric data collection and health examinations, contacting Home Affairs, the Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS), Australian Customs and Biosecurity and other Home Affairs information. If you require further information or assistance, please speak to the Home Affairs multilingual Global Services Centre (GSC) directly. The Home Affairs multilingual GSC is open Monday-Friday from 9am to 5pm (except Australian national public holidays):
    • The Home Affairs multilingual GSC can be contacted directly on +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) or on 131 881 (in Australia). Alternatively, callers from New Caledonia or Wallis-and-Futuna can call +687 27 24 14 and press option 2, from Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm (except local public holidays). 
    • the Home Affairs phone options are provided in English but if you prefer to speak with someone in your language, press 6 and say your language in English (for French-speakers, say “French”) and confirm “Yes” when prompted. If the operator speaks to you in English, keep saying your language in English to be put through to an interpreter.
    • Home Affairs does not have an office at the Australian Consulate-General in Noumea. The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea will not respond to Home Affairs enquiries and will not escalate these to Home Affairs.
